The royal family of Maulaheri.

Maulaheri is a small village situated in the district of Muzaffarnagar,Uttar Pradesh but this village is having it’s own importance in the Jaat history.

The ruling Jaat family of Maulaheri belongs to Panwar clan.This family came into prominence with the Third battle of Panipat, when one of the ancestor of this family had risen to become the General of the Maratha army and he looted Najib-ul-Daula at Shukratal, who was coming back from Panipat after being rewarded by Ahmad Shah Abdali.After this act the Jaat general was given a Jagir at Maulaheri(But he originally belongs to Badheri village in Muzaffarnagar).

Over the years the Maulaheri family became one of the most prominent Jaat families of Western Uttar Pradesh.

The family was also having a beautiful Palace in Maulaheri which is in air of desolation now.

Chaudhary Ghasiram was to be awarded the title of Raja but the announcement couldnot be formalised due to his untimely death.

Chaudhary Ghasiram established the present day town of Ghasipura on NH-58 near Muzaffarnagar city.

He built a fort at Ghasipura because it became difficult for the troops to cross the river kali during the monsoon. The fort was built for better administration of the area.

The descendants of Chaudhary Ghasiram resides in the Ghasipura haveli. The present heir of the family is Kunwar Vijayraj singh who is the son of kunwar krishnaraj singh.

The haveli at Ghasipura is a beautiful blend of hindu and mughal architecture with. The orginal fort remains largely dilapted which features one gateway, four burjs and five havelis.

The village host a four day fair every year in the month of October. This fair started in the year 1934 with the help of kunwar Vijayraj singh’s grandmother Giriraj kunwar.

This family holds a great place in the Jaat history of western Uttar Pradesh.
